Last Friday some of the existing teachers, teaching assistants, admin support staff and members of staff with shared specialist roles across Highfield Ely and Highfield Littleport visited the new school site. Morgan Sindall kitted us all out with the appropriate safety equipment and kindly gave us a tour of the new facilities.
Staff toured all elements of the specialist provision and were amazed by the progress and high standard of thier work. Classrooms are really taking shape and the vynil flooring laid, walls painted to a high standard and doors being installed. The hydrotherapy pool now has tiles on the wall of the main buiding and specialists will be coming on site in a few weeks to complete the technical aspects of the job. Our Assistant Head, Lyn commented "wow this really is amazing, the pupils are going to love it here".
We even had the opportunity to look outside and huge progress has been made in that area too. Playgrounds are beginning to be marked out and laid and garden landscaping has begun. Maria, our outdoor learning specialist and Forest Schools leader was pleased to see that there would be an area just perfect to deliver our Forest Schools provision to Primary pupils.
